1. S: Dinner untuk apa ni?
J: Dinner ini untuk lancar dan kutip dana untuk projek yang khusus untuk kita-kita, bekas pelajar STF. Nama projek ini ialah S4S, singkatan untuk Srikandi-for-Srikandi. Itulah sebabnya harganya RM3000 per meja. InsyaAllah kita harapkan lebih 60% dapat dijana sebagai derma kepada tabung. Jika ada di antara kita yang tak dapat hadir ke dinner ini, jangan risau, masih boleh menderma kepada tabung S4S selepas ini.


2. S: Bila dan Di mana dinner ni?
J: Tempat: Impiana KLCC Hotel & Spa, 13, Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur. Ia sederet dengan Ascot.

3. S: Senang tak nak park kereta nanti?
J: Memang susah sikit sebab tempatnya di hotel tu terhad. So jika bawa kereta dan tidak mahu guna khidmat "valet", boleh park di tempat parking umum di hadapan hotel. So perlahankan kereta dan himpit ke kiri selepas melepasi Mandarin Oriental, bagi signal kiri dan lihat sign board "PARKING" di sebelah kiri. Harga, tak berapa pasti...maybe RM6 kot. Gelap sikit dan jaga sikit kalau pakai kasut tinggi bila jalan kat tempat parking tu. ok.
Then cross the street to the hotel. (ada zebra crossing and flicker-flicker your eye-lashes for the cars to stop;)



4. S: Apa agenda dinner nanti?
J: Seperti biasa, agenda utama dinner, adalah makan... tapi dinner kali ini, ada 3 perkara unik: a) Makan cara BUFFET sebabnya: lebih banyak pilihan dan boleh ikut selera masing2.
b) Dinner: tidak formal dan mirip kepada zaman "Annual Party" di STF dulu-dulu. Penghibur: Kita-kita jelah.. Adik2 zaman moden, katanya dah tak ada annual party.
c) Menderma sambil bersilaturrahim

Namun, kita akan bahagikan dinner kita kepada 3 bahagian utama:
Bahagian pertama: iaitu sebelum makan - penerangan mengenai S4S ni. Ucapan2 pembukaan mestilah ada.
Bahagian ke-2: Makan. sesi berkenalan 'networking' dan pertunjukan (rahsia...tungguu) Bahagian ke-3: Deklamasi sajak, gurindam, dsb, karaoke oleh kita-kita.
Lucky draw insyaAllah ada juga.


5. S: Bila dan bagaimana saya nak kena bayar untuk dinner ni?
J: Oh soalan cepu mas tu!! Tolonglah bayar sebelum datang ke dinner. Ini amat memudahkan AJK dinner yang sudah memang nak patah kaki dan tangan....
Ada 2 cara bayaran:

Allahamdullilah the STF basketball team has brought the VICTORY again by retaining the Piala Toh Puan Hajah Zainab for the 2nd consecutive times on May 26th 2008 at 4.20 pm @ SMSAH, Jitra.

I must admit our gals had the right level of confidence throughout the tournament to trash all our opponents (as written by a spectator in his email below). They trained very hard to defend the championship. Syukran! no major injuries and one of the key players whom suffered torn sole ligament recovered just on time to head for HSKBP. Our center, Siti Amirah Binti Zainal (Mira - F5) was voted the Most Valuable Player. Sains Sabah was the runner up, Sek Seri Puteri came out 3rd and Sains Kuching was fourth.

The 3rd season of R2V has concluded . As the coordinator for the project, I wish to extend my heartiest appreciation to the following individuals and parties for their support and commitment:

* Pn Hajah Junaidi (Pengetua STF), Pen Kanan (Pn Hajah Saidah, Pn Kamisah, Tn Hj Azman), basketball teachers (En Hanif & Cik Falisha) and drivers (En Sharom & En Salleh) for the full cooperation extended throughout the season. Tanpa kerjasama padu pihak sekolah & R2V, mustahil projek ini tiba ke tahap ini. Terima kasih kerana menyokong sepenuhnya segala bentuk program yang dicadangkan oleh R2V untuk membangunkan satu pasukan yang mantap. Penghargaan juga untuk penyediaan tempat kediaman utk kegunaan jurulatih-jurulatih R2V di sekolah semenjak Disember 2007. Urusan pentadbiran, perjalanan pelajar & pengangkutan diuruskan dengan lancar.

* To the panel of coaches headed by Mr. Liew. I am really amaze with your ability to predict very accurate opponents' strategies, winning margins and your strategies to counter attack our opponents. No wonder people in the field call you 'Tok Bomoh'. I suppose the HUGE winning margin in each game is a reflection of the effort you have put in to develope the team since 2006, We don't know how to express our gratitude anymore.... Coach Halim, the ever calm & detail coach whom was always there to help coach the girls during the weekdays and his 'ever willing' attitude to learn from his Head Coach. Please extend our appreciation to yr wife, Nurul & children. Terima kasih daun keladi. SK Safina - too bad you were unable to take leave from work during the HSKBP but your coaching effort over the weekends will be remembered by the players. I can understand your frustrations when you were not able to travel to STF during the weekends due to work commitment. My husband, Sdr. Ihsan whom started as a co-coordinator of MCKK Quest-4-Glory but has moved into coaching the Dynamites as well since he has been going to STF very frequent this year. I saw and heard other SBPs struggled to find a coach.. I'm grateful to God for sending STF a panel of coaches ranging from the ages of 30s, 40s, approaching 50s & 60s. Aren't we blessed?


* Srikandi EXCOs: from the President (Kak Mariamah), VP (SK Sue), Secretary (SK Hanazita), Treasurer (SK Anis) & AJK: thank you for making my work very, very easy. Frankly, I love the phone calls when Anis would say, "K.ana, R2V nak pakai duit tak?" "How much do you need for the tournament?" My request has never, never been turned down or questioned. Excos, I truly appreciate your trust on my judgement. K.Mariamah, your forever willing to 'treat the girls for a makan & pass the bill to me' promises had delighted and motivated the girls each time I made the announcements to them prior to an important tournament. Thank you for your staunch support and concern for the progress of the project. Also, appreciate our private conversations over the phone, "berapa tak cukup, bagitau Kak Marimah..." The girls said Thank you for your Pizza treat that nite.

Preparation for HKSBP (PPM)

Assalamualaikum Srikandi Sekalian,


Untuk makluman semua, HSKBP Zone Selatan akan berlangsung pada bulan April ini di Sek Men Agama Persekutuan, Labu, Negeri Sembilan.Tarikh belum ditetapkan lagi dan akan diberitahu sebaik sahaja dapat confirmation dari pihak sekolah. In preparation for that, R2V sudah pun mula menjalankan latihan yang perlu kerana seperti biasa our challenge is 'membancuh ramuan baru' - pemain Tingkatan 5 2007 meninggalkan kita & a new combination has to be trained based on their skills, size, etc.

'Panel of Coaches' tahun ini, Mr.Liew, Sdr Halim, Sdr Ihsan and Sk Safina sedang bertungkus lumus untuk melatih pemain-pemain untuk tahun ini disebabkan ketiadaan pemain tingkatan 5 tahun lepas. Mr. Liew is actually trying out to form a 2008 team. To test the new combination, we will be participating in JB Open U18 (yang sedang berlansung sekarang hinggan Mac ) dan MSSD JB nanti.

As previous years, our main objective is to win the PTPTZ Cup which will be held from May 24-30th di Sek Men Sains Sultan Abdul Halim, Jitra Kedah. To get to the finals in Kedah, we have to become the champ or runner up for the Zone level. In view of this, I need help from all of you on the following aspects. Kindly pass the words around to your batchmates who are not in the e-group, pls.

a) Sponsor for jersey. Each pair is $80 min. we intend to make only 1 set this year since we can use set lama yang tidak koyak/buruk.

b) Sponsor for players shoes. We managed to get a pair of shoe for $160 (Retail at $259). We think kesian juga budak-budak perlu bayar dari their pocket money. The shoe is rather expensive to some because a good pair like this could last till the finals in May. We are looking for sponsors for the main 15 deserving players. If you are not able to sponsor a pair, pls sponsor sebelah ($80)- kiri or kanan. Kalau nak sponsor whole team pun ok jugak! If a particular batch sponsored the whole team shoes or jerseys especially when that batch celebrate their XX years anniversary - lagi bagus!

c) We have to have an intensive camp during the school holidays from 8-16th March because if we don't, we can't be tip top for the Zone Selatan kerana biasalah if we don't train, stamina menurun & hilang game temperment. In view of that, any amount of CASH would be much appreciated. We are planning to bring the top 15 players only (due to budget). We need about $5000 for food & transportation. We need Mr. Liew's help for that .

d) For the national level in May nanti, ada srikandi yang menetap di Jenan (daerah Kubang Pasu) boleh volunteer rumah or bilik utk R2V (2 or 3 person )? We also need help if you could recommend an apartment, homestay or hotel yang berdekatan dgn SEMSAH. Any Srikandi would like to come to support?

Some pictures which were taken during the "Introduction to Basketball " session for the F1 recently in STF.

Laila , Namamu Teratas.

Last Saturday, we (Batch 77) had a very small get-together at Dr. Hairuszah's house in Taman Maluri. Since I don't drive and dont know the way to Zah's house, I was told by Zah to follow Laila Alias. We met at Tesco Shah Alam and we went together.
I wrote a few lines about Laila as I know her then and now. I am putting this up in srikandi blog with the hope that somebody junior would read it and smile with me.

Here it is .

Laila , Namamu Teratas.

The first person that made friends with me the first day I joined MAB was Norlaila Said, a very pregnant lady from Pahang. We stayed friends till today. We were separated for a while when I had to work in the finance department and later to the Carpark Management in KLIA while she stayed in Subang Airport. Lucky her! I had to travel daily to KLIA for 6 years..and grew bigger along the way…he he he..I got my second chin while snoring on the bus! Later when I was transferred back to HQ in Subang, we got close again.

I can tell her anything and everything. Monday morning is never complete if I don't see and tell her of the weekend happenings. Everything dari cerita luar hingga hal-hal dalam kain, semuanye dia tahu, that's the level of friendship that we have. And I trust her completely. Nothing bad about me came out of her mouth and my secrets are safe with her. Best kan ada kawan gitu! And when the song 'Laila namamu teratas' by Amy Search became popular, I sang it to her. She just smile..

And, the first person that I got to know in this world is also a Laila. She was my mother. She used to tell me of the dreams she always had that really delighted her and me. She was beautiful and energetic and I miss her so much. When she was in Hospital KL, down with cancer the nurses there nicknamed her 'Laila Manja' and she liked it. Hhmmm..

And one Laila Alias from STF batch 77 asked me two days ago 'How close were we when we were in STF?' ha ha ha…This is the teratasest of my Laila's question! I laughed and Laila continued 'I know that I was very strict and very quiet back then'. Holding her hand, I don't have the heart to tell her that thirty years ago , in STF I tried my best to steer clear from her way!

But this Laila that greeted me in the Shah Alam Tesco parking area is a different person altogether. She talked and talked all the way to Dr. Hairuszah's house in Taman Maluri (for our batch get-together) that I could barely say anything at all. I enjoyed hearing her talking. Her mixed Malay-English was like a song to my ears. Dear God almighty…people do changed. I never imagined her as such a talkative lady.

So Laila Alias…Namamu kini teratas!
